Any Ideas?

  1. Hey All,

Looking for some advice here...I am putting together my own P/J bass and am looking for a good "growly" set of passive pups. I am playing harder rock / classic metal / "old school" punk and am looking for a compatable pup combo that would be good for the job. Keeping in mind that I need a "P" pickup and a "J" bridge pickup.

So what do you rec? What/who should I be looking to for a good pup combo?
    Thanks for your help...

DiMarzio do a P/J set which is very mid growly - the DP126. It's very reasonably price too at around $90 new I think.

Other pickups will have growl, i.e. Barts, but I think the DiMarzios will cut through a bit better for the music you describe.
