I imagine there are other threads on this topic, but the crappy search here makes it impossible for me to find them.

Do you have any mature bass forums to recommend?

You are looking for a forum that is full of bass players that act mature?

You may find a handful around the world.................

  4. Mature bass forums? Sorry, I still can't understand what you're asking for. Care to elaborate?

Exactly why I'd like to find some other forums.

    Hysterical. Can't stop laughing.

Ok, forget mature. That was too much of a big boy word for here.

How about - any other bass forums that you find interesting and active.

    There's always the DB side........

  9. seriously - not really. I've found some websites for other instruments interesting, at least temporarily, but I haven't found another general bass website that I like as much as this one. There are also the forums for specific brands like Ernie Ball Music Man but they're of limited interest.

  10. yeah, I was going to bring that up but I didn't see a DB in SBassman's profile. But yes, there are some great (and mature) discussions over there.

  11. What exactly are you looking for?

    Do I smell ragequit?

Actually I keep hanging on TB because it is the most organized forum around, I mean, even OT doesn't get too crazy here :D

Most TBers are cool people and, heck, I even bought stuff from TB members overseas and didn't have any issues... where else do you get that?

And for the "mature" part, I know that there are kids in here that get annoying sometimes, but it is much worse in other forums, we've got some badass mods round here, too!

TB is the best bass forum i have found. playbass.com has some interesting users, but nothing quite as expansive as here.

Notwithstanding opinions about the search engine, I doubt it can search for attitudes and maturity. The forums are open to all and there are mechanisms to deal with behavior considered improper by members and the powers that be. Just my 2 cents (which will probably have to soon be changed to 'just my nickel' as pennies go by the wayside). :-((

In any case, I think that Talkbass is probably a most useful forum. And, yes, I put my money where my mouth is.

  17. I agree that Talkbass is a very useful and enlightening place, but I'd never put my money anywhere near my mouth. You have no idea where my mouth has been...

I just buggered the mature thing, didn't I...

    Hmmmmm . . .

Wow! A dog's mouth is considered cleaner that a human's, and you know where his mouth has been.

    PS: Colloquialisms, I just lovem'.

There is a group on LinkedIn. Mature but not very active compared to TB.
