I've read that the new head coming out will be something like 600 watts rms etc.
Time to bump this!
I happened to try the 300W Clarus, and it whooops!!
Some 200w @ 8 ohm would be rather good, though, and somwhere I heard about a release at NAMM. So we come back to:
When I emailed AI about the high-power head in October, Rick Jones replied that it was due to come out in the first quarter of '04. Dunno if it's still on track. I believe Bob Gollihur (an AI retailer on the TBDB side) went to NAMM and should know the details.
The AI 600 watt model will be out in about 4 to 6 weeks. The weight is about 4.5 lbs. Retail prices range from $1200 to $1500. I can't wait!!
Is that 600w into 4 ohm, or 2 ohm? I was able to try the current model over the weekend, and it is incredibly impressive, especially for the size.
600 watts@ 4 ohms.
Thanks! Will it still be 2 ohm stable?
you've got too many of the lightweight amp goodies!
btw, my good bud Bobbie G should be giving me a call in a wee bit.
Describe "Too many".
I only have 4 Walter Woods right now and looking for a 5th. But to be frank, I'm getting tired of hauling around 7 lbs and am looking forward to saving my back with the AI 4.5 lb 600 watt monster.
i rest my case...
but hey, just playin'. no need to get defensive. if anything, i'd kill to have a setup like yours!
cause yes, it'd save my granny-butt much trouble...
Yeah, I know. I need help! Anybody know a good therapist that specializes in GAS?
