There is a Trace Elliot V8 for sale in Australia via ebay:
Trying to get the cash together as we speak!!!
Wow - 8 tubes, 30kgs - what a beast!
Shipping would cost heaps tho.
Actually it's got 16 tubes if you count the flashy display; 8 x KT-88s for power. The compressor is the most musical sounding I have yet heard for bass. Good luck, mates.
Why isn't this seller my neighbour? Aargh...
You are definitely THE MAN on stage with that thing... sonically speaking and not to mention the looks, although I dig the design before that version more. It has the green carpet around it, with more retro-looking design... but it has the old V-type preamp in it, not the one with the compressor. Anyway.. this must be the coolest amp on the planet.
The bulbfactory inside... fantastic!
Here's a pic of mine:
It pained me to see that auction earlier in the week. An amazing amp, located so very far away...
I hear ya!
very nice set up you have there
Yea its depressing to see such an awesome amp half way around the world and at a price I can't touch right now
Oddio, your rig looks really sweeeeeeeeeet! Do you gig with it?
just saw the auction myself.
im really lusting after this amp.
in all seriousness...
should i consider selling my iAmp for the V8?
id love some opinions.
It's well known among V8 owners that some (not all, fortunately!) of these heads were problematic. Ask if the amp has had any problems, especially with regards to blowing internal fuses. If so, steer clear...
Thank you! Yes, this is in fact one of my primary setups.
