i got a 200 watt electro-voice monitor speaker cabinet and a 20 watt tube amplifier. what do i do? play outside and annoy my neighbors!!! lately i’ve going heavy on black sabbath, and when music gets so heavy, you really can’t help but move around like you’re playing in front of a million people or something. i often find myself playing like you see in the picture below, with some more cool weird things sprinkled in. does anyone else find a weird way to hold your bass when you’re going into it live? i’m sure i burn a fair amount of calories out in the heat playing the way i do

I've done worse. In front of people. Many people. It's only rock 'n' roll.

I would never pick on Jeff, he's one of my heroes.

    I do that pose, though.

I opt for the Link Wray/Johnny Ramone/Von Zippers spread leg thing on occasion…

I dress and pose like this:

  11. Of course I do that. Doesn't everyone when you have to hit those special notes?

It's rock 'n ' roll.... and heck, I do that on classical violin too when I'm hitting the really showy crowd pleaser stuff. It's a show, not just for the crowd, but also for you.

I guess that pose is cool if you want to be a poser. :woot:

I wear my bass way too high like a jazz nerd. I'm sure that completely invalidates my opinion on this thread and I don't give a damn. :bookworm:

I like the idea of playing loud on the porch and letting the neighbors know a bass player lives next door!

I think Mike Mesaros has been known to burn around 900-1200 calories per hour. I still think he’s cool. :D When the rest of the band are dead still or nearly so, somebody has to keep the audience awake. Sadly most music alone isn’t enough to do that, not even rock n roll.
  20. I wear my bass high because I am a jazz nerd, but I still do the poses.... my headstock is up like 4 feet above my head when I do it!
