I did today. Meh. I think my basses are safe.
Yeah dude, but you have like...the ultimate V-kit already
Is there anything special about them?
there's some cool stuff, the new hi-hat is pretty radical- and not in the surfer kind of way. Some nice sounding snares! Nothing too revolutionary though.
Actually, I think I loved the new rack the best. Come to think of it, it was kind of revolutionary. Might have to grab one.
To be fair, this guy leaves me whimpering in the corner:
What about that picture of the new Terry Bozzio kit? I know diddley about drums and I found that impressive, almost as impressive as what I have seen of the man who plays them.
Yeah, he's one of the few that deserves a kit like that.
I have more drums than my talent merits, but that way I don't have to aim as good.
I just spent some time on the Roland webpage.
now I have serious GAS!
I would *love* to have that new V-kit...I'll bet it's going to cost like $6000 though
Or, if they introduce it at the old high price point, then the other kits should go down in price.
That's the spirit!
to quote homer simpson re: designing a car
"I want a horn(snare) here...here...and here. YOU CAN NEVER FIND A HORN(snare) WHEN YOU ARE ANGRY!"
they can't even fit Terry's new kit in 1 picture!
The new Roland TD20 kit is retailing for $5495.
I'll take 3.
yes! xush is buying my a V-kit!
Any idea what he pays for those room sized kits, that is the second one of his I have seen.
He kills on the Baby Snakes Dvd, course then so does everybody is Frank's Band.
Frank doesn't to bad either
I guess drums are music too.
Off to Misc.
Uh, I wouldn't wanna help load that at the end of a gig....
Dang, that's insane... yet soothingly logical. And I pity his roadies!
I feel bad for his drum techs. All forty of them .
You think that's bad? Check this out:
That whole setup is played by two drummers, by the way.
Staying a little on topic, I love the V-Drums, but I think Roland has priced them WAY too high. $6000?! That's a bit much, don't you hink. Maybe if the cymbals sounded real, then maybe.
I could never adapt to electric drums...I've I had to I could play them, but it wouldn't be willingly. If I'm gonna spend 6K on a set, I think I'd go for a nice Pearl Masterworks.
I enjoy playing my V-drums, but it takes a lot of work and gear to get them sounding usable live. I'd hoped the new module would simplify a lot of that. :-(
Now, what is all that for?
To my ears, that hard work's payed off, though, Mark. Sometimes it's pretty dang tough to tell your playing electronic drums. I've had drummer friends that couldn't believe you weren't playing acoustic drums.
