Do any of you use a single 8 ohm cab?

Is it enough power for your needs? please describe

If one has a high powered amp head, a single 8ohm cab is fine. I plan to get an 8ohm 4x10 to use with my Yorkville XS800 which will push 600w into the cab.

I run a pair of single 15" 8ohm cabs in parallel when using an SVT. When I just need one (fairly often) I use an old V4B which has the 2-4-8 ohm selector switch. Any gig where I just need the single 15, the V4B has plenty of power to push it.
  4. Mesa RR 1X15 w/D-180 head. All-tube=full power at 4 or 8 ohms. Plenty loud; too flippin' heavy(says my old back). :help:

Yup. I use a 4X10 for a stage rig. I stuff a 18 under it if I need big sound, but for the last few years it's been the 4x10 all by it's lonesome.

I have a 500 watt amp, but I don't think I've ever had it above 4 on the dial.

    I use a GK 1001RB II (480 watts @ 8 ohms) with a single SVT 115 for 95% of my gigs. If I need more, I'll add a second 115 or a 4x12 for 700 watts at 4 ohms.
  9. 200 watts from an Aguilar db 359 into a Bergantino hs 210 -- a single 8 ohm cab. Tons of volume...

I have two BagEnd 1x15's, not the cube but the S15B-D's. There are many, many times when I use just one of them.

Plenty of volume, plenty of lows, plenty of mids, plenty of highs. I run it pretty flat, not scooped. I run it with a Peavey Max 700, meaning about 275 watts @ 8 ohms (max), and certainly NOT pushing the amp at all...maybe 100-150 watts or so. The cabs are very efficient, and I use both only when playing outdoors.

I use an 8ohm Peavey 410TX cab with my Peavey MkIV which at 8ohms puts out approx 220watts and believe me it's loud enough to cut through a loud rock band.

8 ohm 4x10 gets 700 watts of RBI goodness =]

    works just fine for me!
  13. I run an 8 ohm carvin 4 10 on my QSC. 750 watts at 8 ohms bridge. Really nice sound.

My 8ohm Acme B2 is fed by one side of a Crest CA9.

It's exceptionally rare that I don't have enough power.

    Eden Nav > Crown K1 (1,000w) > SWR GIII 4x10 @ 8 Ohms. Great in most rooms.

I'll add an SWR 2x10 for bigger shows.

    I use a 410 he with a 350h pushing it.
Works just fine for most smaller bars.
  18. Yes Either one of my Eden cabs will be fine in most situations with my WT800. (410XLT8 or 410XST8).
As long as you've got some reasonble power driving your cab a single 8ohm will still work great.

But I must say 2 of them bridged is damn awesome!!!
