Any one drive a Chevy Colorado?

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by reasonbass, Jul 22, 2005.

  1. Are u happy with it? What engine do you have? I'm looking for a new truck. And with the discount purchase plan. It seems that this is a good time to look at one. Thanks.

I've spent about two hours behind the wheel of a GMC Canyon (4D 4WD), and was impressed. However, I came to the realization that I need an enclosed back, so I'm looking at the Chevy Equinox and the new Pontiac Torrent instead. They're not trucks, but they fit my needs better.

  3. Thanks for your opinion Heavy. I was also looking at other GM vehicles and I came across the Saab 9-2x I would like to get the Aero package 220hp turbo 4, all wheel drive sport wagon. Its the same thing as the Subaru Impressa WRX sport wagon, But its way cheaper with employee pricing. I heard they are really hard to find tho.

  4. ok so i went to a chevy dealer. Did a test drive and decided on this........

GM has a Vortec Inline family of DOHC engines. Same basic design, only differ by number of cylinders.

There's a 2.8L 4 cylinder (Base engine in Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon)

There's a 3.5L 5 cylinder (Uplevel engine in Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon and base engine in Hummer H3)

There's a 4.2L 6 cylinder (Base engine in Chevy Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, Saab 9-7X)

Acura used to use a 5 cylinder in the Acura Vigor (now called the TL) and Audi used to use a 5 cylinder.

    Peace,

    James

It would be more fun as a radial 5.

What would be even _more_ fun would be a five-rotor rotary engine.

    Yeah. Think about it.

Funny you should mention it, I was looking through an old aircraft book of mine and was wondering what would happen if somebody put a big radial 9 into a car.

I considered the colorado, I wasn't very impressed. It was a little too tame for my taste in trucks. The only thing I liked better about the colorado was the legroom and the highway speed handling.

    I ended up with this:

Zero G trucks rawk foo! haha..

I kinda like the new Colorados.. after all, they are named after my state :D
If I got a compact truck it would be a S-10 eXtreme though.. I don't do much offroading, but use the cargo space in my wagon a lot.
