I did do a search and found a lot of info on Conklin's custom basses and on the overseas made ones, but next to nothing on the New Century Series. Has anyone played one? Does anyone own one? can anyone give me any opinions?

It looks like it would be a good choice for a guy like me who really can't go for an all out custom Conklin.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The New Century basses are hand made by Bill and crew just like the custom ones. Only difference is fewer custom options.
    Very fine instruments indeed!

Excellent instruments!! JT owns a couple (?) which I got to play at xush's last Bass Summit! As said, they're handmade all the way just like the full blown customs except that Bill limits available options to keep the price down.. THe ONLY complaint I have about the New Century line is that Bill doesn't offer a 8 and 9 string model..
