any other wound gut G string?

i think the pizzicatos were discontinued. If you consider this, Gamut makes a lyon gut DG that is wrapped in Nylon kind of like the Golden Spirals

quick edit, you can get nylon wrapped red dimonds but they are a little high tension. the Lyons you can add a nylon wrapping Contra Bass G-1 Lyon

Can’t speak for Sam, but Goldentones were discontinued several years ago.

 

Not confused. About 4 years ago I wanted to try guts and wanted these, called every store in america and could not find a set anywhere. I emailed them and they said they got too expensive to make. I have no idea why they are still listed on the website, but notice other labella guts are listed and you can't buy them new either.

I emailed Jason Heath at Contrabass conversations to see if he could ask D’Addario if they’ll ever resume making the Kaplan Golden Spirals again. I figured that since they sponsor his podcast he could put some feelers out there to see if there is any hope for us bassists wanting Golden Spirals and he said he would ask once the pandemic gets better.
