any pickups i want?

    if you were about to go tampering with you're cheap bass and put in any pickup you wanted, what would you go with? i'm looking for maybe something to get me the pop and slap of funk, and the rumble and whatnot of heavy music. should this be accomplished with two or more pickups? placed where? and what types?

    put a musicman replacement such as a baselines and a good preamp, thats a pretty good pickup setup for what your talking about.

    hyper's suggestion is what I went with - Basslines alnico MM with the 3-band Tone Circuit they make to go with it.

    If price was no object and I wanted to spend a lot of time on the phone, I'd go with an Aero.
