I just bought a Samson SX1200 power amp and am pulling my hair out here. Their website, along with vendors selling the amplifier, say it produces 1200 watts at 4ohms . However in the manual it says 1200@ 8 ohms and to not go lower. I would expect the manual is correct but not sure. Anyone own one of these that can clarify?

    The website says:-
    300 Watts per side @ 8 Ohms
    450 Watts per side @ 4 Ohms
    600 Watts per side @ 2 Ohms
    1200 Watts bridged mono @ 4 Ohms

I suspect the manual has a typo. Power amps that are 2 ohm capable will usually bridge to 4 ohms.

To be sure, contact Samson (support@samsontech.com) or call them in NY on 516-364-2244.
