Hi guys, this is my first post in talkbass:)

my bass is a marcus miller 4-string jazz
I had instored a 3-band bartolini preamp in it

I wanna replace the neck pup to a much fuller/heavier sound like P pup while having a strong attack like MM pup
but I dun wanna shave the wood down to fit other pups' shape

so, do u guys have any suggestions for a J pup sound like a blend of P/MM?:)
(possibly with big magnets? I wanna try big magnet pup!:hyper: )

actually I am thinking of bartolini or dimarzio
but I worry that high output pups would make my bridge J pup buried...:meh:

There's loads of good Jazz bass pickups available but I dunno of any that will do a decent approximation of the P bass or MM, much less both of them. The Duncan Basslines seem to be pretty popular here as well as more boutique type pickups like the Norstrands (which I believe are available as separate coils for the low and high strings P-bass style in a J-bass housing).
