any suggestions?

    well, it's time for me to get a new amp. i mainly need a practice combo that i can also use as a monitor (i play through the mains most of the time) or a small(er) head and cab. i like GK tone, but the only ones i can afford right now are the Backline series. i've been looking at the 250 head and the 115BLX combo but the amp has overheating problems. any other suggestions? i would like to pick one up the same time i get my new bass (which i am still debating over).

    How about a good used GK instead of a Backline?

    I'd recommend checking out yorkville xm200 $520 200w, xm100 $375 100w the xm200 has more power and extension speaker output, the xm100 is cheaper price and no extension option. you can get both in a 15" speaker. the yorkville tone is slightly warmer than GK, but not thick or muddy. people usually rave about how loud the yorkvilles are.
