I'm going to be in the market for a new bass soon, and i've heard that the Cirrus has great fingerstyle and slap tones, but nothing about when its played with a pick. i use all 3 techniques in my playing. My current first choice is a Modulus Q5, which has great tone in all 3 areas. How can a Cirrus compare to something like a Modulus in the pick-tone department?

I liked the tone of every Cirrus I have played, not sure about pick tone (didn't know how to use one at the time), but I would say that they are very capable of getting a great pick tone.

The Cirrus active preamp is very flexible and one of the only active preamps that I like the flat sound of.

Play one and decide for yourself.

Now that I think about it, there is a tb user, that I know, named edrubin who will sometimes use a pick with his cirrus...you might pm him.
