We did a Valentine's themed gig this past Friday. Our drummer thinks we went overboard, but the guitarist and I had fun shopping for geeky coordinating pink and red outfits. We picked out these super dumb red shirts for the boys that said "Studlicious" and "Official Heartbreaker". I couldn't find any silly ones for girls, so I made one that said "Secret Apollo is for Lovers". Then we had to hunt for pants for the guitarist. We ended up getting him pink pants...from the women's section at a dept. store (and not the skinny, tight girl pants the boys are wearing these days). Mostly I just enjoyed making him try on chick's pants at all the stores we went outfit hunting in. :p

Then we bought red rope lights and made a heart and affixed it to the front of the kick drum (by the end of the night, it was a broken heart). And we bought lots of candy and the ones that had To/From spots on them we put To: Music Fan From: Secret Apollo. Handing out the remaining candy after the set was a good way to meet our adoring public.

We took pictures, but I don't have them at the moment. Just wanted to see if anybody else did anything fun with their band for the holiday...

  2. 3 years ago we did a V-day party with strippers from Bad Girl Productions, We tried to give away the singer, but nobody wanted him. we had a local porn shop give away about 5000 condoms and a couple of female satisfaction contraptions.

    batteries included. :D

  4. yea, we played a gig at my school for valentines day. very boring. It was just me and the rest of the rhythm section from my jazz band. plus some people from the top show choir at my school. so many boring love songs. but at the end we got to play some beatles, so its all good.
