Anybody care to help me determine what pickup and preamp I have here?

My new '98 Warwick FNA has this pickup:

    And this preamp:

What do I have? A MEC pickup and a Basslines preamp? There's no obvious markings on either. The volume pot IS marked MEC.

hey, that's a dead giveaway! look at the battery... It's definitely a duracell preamp!:D

It loos like a Mec to me. They use those kind of harnesses. The trim pots also look like their configuration.

Edit: Well, maybe I was wrong. It's because I can't afford a warwick!! AHHHHH!!!!

    Hey,

    In your FNA you have....
    - A Mec humbucking pickup
    and
    - A Basslines Preamp.

Enjoy the new bass...you got a great deal!

Thanks, everyone! Now, can anyone point me to an on-line source regarding the preamp controls? I see there's two trim pots on the board, which I suspect adjust the slap contour. However, neither the SD nor Warwick's site have instructions regarding this preamp...

I can look up the exact details when I get home, but from what I remember, one is the bass boost and the other is the mid cut. As you said, for the slap contour.

I can post specifics once I look at the SD literature at home tonight, or you can mess with it and find a setting you like.

I'd appreciate it - it sounds pretty good right now, and would prefer to know what I'm tweaking!

ok, the docs don't give any more detail than I did. Left trimpot is the bass boost, right trimpot is mid cut.

By the way, HeavyDuty, any way you could post soundclips? I'm interested in FNA myself, so I'd be nice to hear it in action.

No way of posting soundclips, sorry. I'm miserable at describing sounds with words, but my first impression was an aggressive, woody P... kinda.
