I've been looking at these wondering how they compare with Fender.
Someone out there has to be gigging with a Carvin P5
I think there's a Carvin/Kiesel club. You might get more feedback if you post with them. I don't have a PB5 myself, I have an SB4000, which I gigged with a lot in a classic rock trio. I know Ed Friedland put it alongside the Lakland 44-64 and the G&L LB-100 as a Fender killer.
I gigged a PB 4 for a while and liked it a lot. It was a nice enough bass, but to me that particular model Carvin ( and it was still a Carvin) isn't quite as refined as say a Fender American Standard. There's another guy here that gigs a PB 5 and he seems to love it.
Thanks for the replies,Ive had my eyes on them but I'm in a city that doesn't have a music store.I have to go by what I read.
