Anybody know what Martin Mendez's (Opeth) new "super-jazz" is? Sandberg, maybe?

Yup Sandberg, the four dots in a square above the neck, where it meets the pickguard on the upper horn side are a dead giveaway.

Dude, that thing looks like a beast. Huge Opeth and Mendez fan. I don't listen to as much metal as I used to but this guy just kills. Really solid. I don't know much about Sandberg basses but I would love to try this Jazz beast. I'll bet it's really versatile to boot. I wonder what it goes for.

Ok. So I found something like it on their website. It looks like it's based on the California Super JM model. It looks really cool.

  5. He said he's only been playing the Sandbergs for about a month. they've been asking for a while for him to endorse, and he finally bit and is glad he did!

That's awesome. Wonder if the Fender amps are gonna stay or not.
