I was really enjoying one of these yesterday. Has anybody modded them with something like Nordstrand pickups yet?

I just bought one and it hasn't arrived yet. I don't think I'll be changing the pickups though since I really liked sound when I played it in a store (got a much better deal online).

I think some Aeros would go good in it, they are supposed to be good for that 70s sound. I'm surprised they have Alder bodies.

They sound fine stock IMO but they surely require some shielding work.

Yep. Mine has NJ4s and an Audere pre. Killer slap bass. About as good sounding as my old UV70 Sadowsky.

I was just at the GC downtown Seattle, and they're already blowing out one of these 70's Jazz for $400 bucks (a black one). I don't know why, couldn't find anything wrong with it (other than a setup).

I just bought a black one myself. Considering that the best I could do on price was $550 after searching for months, someone needs to buy that one, pronto.

I think GC is blowing out alot of stuff just to keep some cash flow happening during this slow economy. I wish I could find a nice Seventies Jazz for $400!:bassist:
