would anybody know what's the string spacing on Schack six string basses? got an offer for a fretless neck, but the guy knows nothing about it except it's a Schack...
    thanks for your help,
    cheers!

Information on Schack basses is notoriously hard to find. Good luck.

I think the problem with Schack is a lack of online info and a decent website. I mean, are they even still in business?

The last time I saw a new Schack bass I think was when Kai Eckhardt was using them in the late 80's/early 90's!

don't think they are, tried e-mail, phone calls, even wrote a letter to the address found on some german forum... nada. andy schack has been seen on warwick's anniversary last summer, but what he does at the moment - who knows.
i like the neck as it is, looks like i'll find out when i get it.
    cheers!

  6. The Luthier's Acces Group has had a 36" scale 6 string for a while. The price is a tad high, but it looks killer. If it were 34 or 35" scale, I'd be all over it. I'm hesitant with 36" scale since I'm a shrimp.

yes, saw it, but it didn't have much info.
(now) mine's 34" lined rosewood fretless maple / bubinga lam thing, very thin and fast. for some reason it has guitar tuners, but i kinda like that, it makes headstock look better. zero fret and all. like it a lot, now i just have to get a body made for it... :)

sure it is! it's a beauty, and since i'm playing LaBella's tapewounds it shouldn't have any issues with open string tone. will post pix when done with the body
