I did. Mine was a 89 built 4str with chrome hardware, purple quilted maple top, double P PU configuration with volume, pan, filter, Q, bass/treble cut/flat/boost electronics. Compared to other Alembic models the Elan is lighter due to its thinner body and well balanced due to the long upper horn. I wish I hadn't sold it years ago.
I have two, one from 1990 and a custom build from 2010: 1990 Stormburst Elan 4: 2010 "almost black" Elan 5: Both strung with Cocco's obviously Compared to my other Alembics these are heavy (others are two Spoilers and a custom fretless with an "almost" Europa body shape) Best place to get info is on the Alembic club
No,but I was fortunate enough to play Stanley Clarke's. He was touring with George Duke and playing a small venue in West Palm Beach, FL. During a Bb jam George says "anyone in the audience play piano".Now Stanley seemed apprehensive but played along and said any bass players. So I'm thinkin I'll never get this chance again so I rushed to the stage. I had to prop my leg on a chair to play comfortably, Stanley' a tall dude. Well that said, I loved it.
