An acquaintance of mine got a gig with a blues artist I have yet to check out, but he posted this picture on his Facebook page. First thing that popped out at me were the knobs on the guitar.
    What are they?

RIC has used some strange knobs, so they could be stock:

Okay, I'm not a Rickenbacker guy so I'm unfamiliar with the knobs. Pretty cool, though.

Yep, Rickenbacker "oven" knobs, but with added pointers. I don't recall for sure, but I think the maker of them was/is a company called Rogan.

  6. That's an old guitar isn't it? 60's? I haven't seen those knobs on any current Ric that I can think of.

I don't see the knobs from that guitar here, but if the instrument is from the '60's then the knobs have likely long ceased production.

IIRC someone on the RRF had a special run of these made around 10 years ago.

I have seen many many knobs in my lifetime & unfortunately I had to work for a few of them.

Sorry, not falling for that one again...;)

  13. I'm going to have to start checking out the electronic sections of my local thrift stores if there's suckers willing to pay $10-15/ knob for Funky Chicken heads.

Chicken heads? They look nothing like chicken head knobs. Price notwithstanding.

  15. Well, I had to figure out a way to get the "Funky Chicken" line in there somehow didn't I :cautious:?.
