I'm really anxious to try the new lines of Fender basses. The Musican's Friend website says that they are expected to be "released" on October 1. Is anyone planning on getting one or has anyone heard anything official regarding when they will be available for sale?
ok what fenders are you talking about. I know they come out with new strats every couple years advertising that thay are brand new!!, but they are pretty insignificant changes. Are these completely different basses or what. I am kinda jonsing for a P in that new light blue color they have. Well a link to the new fenders would be much appreciated, thanks.

If you look through the list (in the link above), you will see the "FMT" series and the "Zone" series. There is also a Victor Bailey signature series that seems like a real quality instrument.
The Victor Bailey one looks nice. I can take or leave the rest. Disappointed that Fender didn't attempt a 24-fret, 6-string Roscoe Beck or a 5-string Urge II. Either of those would have induced severe GAS.
They look pretty much the same as the old fenders, which isn't a bad thing. The colors are nice though and I like the gold tuners.
Not me. <a href="http://www.theoremnyc.cjb.net"><img width=385 height=70 src="http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1174383&a=8647027&p=41535909&Sequence=0&res=high" border=0></a>
wow, i bet those sound amazing. the real wood and everything. no pickguards. they look good to me. i'd love to try one of those bad boys out. well, all of them but the sting bass.
Fender has to move with the times and compete with all the bass makers around - less bright coloured finishes and more nice wood tops from now on.
i like only the sting p bass. but i hate sting as person so if i want a bass that style i'd go with warmoth...
Take a walk down bassstreet for a look at the whole lineup. http://www.bassstreet.com/product/show.php?node_id=3
Ok, now Fender finally realised you don't have to hide wood under paint. But I don't feel any symptoms of G.A.S. yet.
