I've heard a few people say they've gotten several sets of TI flats with dead E strings....since I'm going to be getting a new set soon, I was just wondering if anyone has had that problem lately.
BTW... I've noticed the E on my set of TI's varies quite a bit in diameter down the length of the string...lumpy, in fact, when you run it between your fingers down the length. And some of the windings are gapped slightly wider than others. Is this normal, or should there be more consistency on a TI flat E string?

I've had one set each of TI Flats and Rounds, both 5 string sets. No dead strings (and definite gaps in the flat's E & A's windings) but IMO the B's could stand to be a bit more massive for optimum tone. Each set is at least 2 years old.

I have probably bought 10 sets of TI flats in the last 5 ot 6 years. I presently have them on 4 basses. Never had a problem with them.
