Anyone have an experience with hipshot tremolos?

WHY ARE THEY SO CHEAP compared to Kahlers tremolo? Kahlers tremolo is like $400 while warmoth sells a gold Hipshot for $177. I'm a little suspicious. I have played a first act guitar with a tremolo and of course it wasn't nearly as good as a fender's tremolo

For the most part Kahler can keep their prices high because they want to, they're pretty much the original, and people want Kahlers. The used market was demanding $300+ from them, so Kahler took the initiative and realized they could sell that high, so they did.

Hipshot can sell much cheaper because their product is new and not as known. Also requires MUCH more routing. If you don't mind modifying your bass permanently, go with the inexpensive Hipshot, if you want to reverse it one day, the Kahler is for you.

I personally prefer the Kahler, but I have yet to try the Hipshot.
