...and worried about it due to the freezing cold weather?

Thank goodness the only thing I have coming is a pickguard.
  2. Hey, even that you'll want to let warm up before opening. LOL

Not this weekend, but last - I had an instrument delivered in sub-32 degree weather (2 days on the FedEx truck).

It was from Sweetwater and I noticed they started putting a very large, very obvious, WARNING sticker on the box strongly recommending the user to let the shipping box acclimate to room temperature for at least 24 hours before opening, the dangerous of finish checking, etc.

I thought that was a pretty cool practice that I hadn't seen before from other places.

I have one coming from Reverb tomorrow.
Might be as cold as 10 degress then (I know that is warm for some of you guys).
The instruments were never shipped in heated trucks be it used or new.
Some were (or are) sitting in hubs like Chicago.
Nothing good can come from these huge temp swings but mine will be going from outside to my 40 degree unheated garage, to the unfinished section of the basement, and will stay in the carton upstairs for awhile before I open it.
Not much else you can do.

I have an '81 G&L L2KE with a very clean almost unchecked nitro finish that left Aurora, IL on the 26th and is in Green Bay for the night to be delivered in Door County WI tomorrow. I have to admit that I am concerned about extreme temp changes.
  7. No bass but a laptop scheduled for delivery on Friday :bored::bored:

I have a bass coming from the Pacific NW to NYC that's supposed to arrive tomorrow (when the temps here in NYC will be in the single digits)...hoping it's been routed through a more southerly UPS hub, but who knows? Probably should be more worried about the time it spends on the truck locally... drool

I'm expecting a Carvin BB70 to arrive on Friday from Southern California. With high temperatures in the mid-fifties that day I think it should be okay. But I'm not sure what route UPS is taking to get here, so the bass certainly could pass through some very cold temperatures.

No, but the guy I bought a pedal from on Reverb is waiting a day or two at least to try to mail it out. I told him that was fine by me, fuzzy goodness can wait.

Strings tighten up in the cold, can bend the neck.
