Anyone know of Herbie Hancocks Bassist?

  1. Anyone know the bassists from these two albums?

    Herbie Hancock's Headhunters (Chameleon, WaterMelon man etc.)

    Maxwell's MTV Unplugged

    Paul Jackson Jr. played on Headhunters.

    I believe it was Paul Jackson Sr. Paul Jackson Jr. is a guitarist.

    He may also be using a hammond organ or a clavinet for the bass lines on the recordings and not an actual bass guitar, so it may just be him performing them

    "Ready" Freddy Washington could have played on the other, Im not sure though, but I do know he played with Herbie

    It is indeed Paul Jackson on the Headhunters album.
    ...if you like that one, pick up Thrust(Mike Clark replaces Harvey Mason on drums...Clark & Jackson play extremely well together).

    PLUS-
    The two '70s Headhunters albums sans Herbie have recently been re-issued DOMESTICALLY.
    More Funky stuff from Clark/Jackson with some in/out work from guitarist "Blackbird" McKnight & Bennie Maupin(horns).
