Anyone know where to get a red jazz bass like Geddy has?

Ged's red jazz is a Fender custom shop model. Assuming you can't swing something that expensive, chwck out www.warmoth.com and pick up a J body with a flamed maple top, and have them stain it red for you. Then pick out a neck, pups, hardware, and assemble it. Voila.

As far as the new GL's, the only changes I know of are improved tuners and a sanded neck.

 

Yea its a Custom Shop Bass, but I believe that I read that he actually does use the Geddy Lee Signature necks on them, except he wet sands them down to remove some of the finish...

 

have someone refin a geddy lee jazz for you

or if you want the flamed maple body really bad id say warmoth like someone else did.
