Washburn has these cool new basses on their site but I can 't find one actually in stock anywhere. Has anyone seen or played one? I emailed Washburn and they said to contact a distributor.
Here's the news release from January:

Yah, you'll need to find a local dealer who might be interested in ordering one, which seems rare these days. You can also try buying one over the 'net and sending it back if you don't like it - be sure to check the seller's policy!

  4. Looks like washburn might actually be making something worthwhile again. About time, they used to make some killer stuff.

Their original ideas (such as the Taurus) continue to be strong pieces but they seem to get off track with their "me too" basses (e.g. Bantam, Idol). The Bantam is a great bass but it's pretty similar to a Yamaha IMHO. The Idol plays very nicely and has the unique advantage of being a 34" LP shape, but I dunno if anybody cares.
