Anyone own an Ibanez Gerald Veasley 6er?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Solarmist, Feb 24, 2014.

  1. I've been thinking of moving up to an Ibanez 6er, and like the GVB36 having 14mm spacing being I play with a pick.

Other than the spacing - is this bass worth the extra cost over an SR506 or SR706 at $1100?

I have one. I don't use a pick. I set up my GVB36 with really low action and it plays great. It can be played with an extremely light touch. The neck is really thin and comfortable.

I just bought a gvb36 used from Guitar Center online. Once set up it is an awesome bass. Nice thin stable neck and I like the fat sound. I've been playing sixers since 2000. My all-time favorite is a Peavey Cirrus 6 US made that I've had 14 years. I'm picky about action/ neck but I haven't had to adjust the neck on it in 7 years!!! It stays in tune like no other. Other are ibanez btb1006 (didn't like the neck) and a Dean edge q6 (a decent bass for the money.sold it to fund an upright, may get another one). The gvb36 inspires me to play more. It has a great feel and makes me want to be creative. I'd say it comes down to the neck. It is soooo comfortable and easy to play. Very happy with it.
