anyone play a peavey millinium 5 string?

  1. I mostly play a four string fender but have been wanting to buy a nice five string, is the peavey millinium a good investment?

If you are thinking of the one for sale for $450 in the classifieds. That is an outstanding price and the bass is excellent. I paid $500 a few years ago for a 4-string that did not have the figured top nor a hardshell case. I love the neck profile of the Peavey's; it is different from the Fenders (P or J), different than the Stingrays. It is not as deep from front to back - worth trying out to see if it works for you.

There was also a review of the 5-string a few years back in a British bass magazine that you may find helpful - can't remember the name but they did a comparison of 4 or 5 basses and the Peavey held its own.
