All this talk of tube amps on here has got me wanting one and the traynor yba200 sounds a good cheap way of getting one. One thing that puts me off though is that i think it looks cheap and ugly. For the price, I'm not expecting an svt looking beast, but does anyone agree with me? :meh:

I agree. I like it too.

It does seem that the new Peavey line also carries the oval-with-wings insignia used on the Traynor, as seen here:

It's black, it has knobs, and you can see the tubes glow through the front grill. That doesn't spell ugly to me.

    I want one. :)

A blue light might help, but the rest of it is pretty hip.

I thought my Mesa 400+ was ugly too, but now it's part of its charm.
    But no, I don't think that's ugly.

I love the way it looks. I would even leave the logo on.

I don't know if it qualifies as ugly, but it does look plain. In fact, it looks like a project amp my Dad helped me build when I was 15. Built the whole thing in the basement from spare parts pirated from old CB radios and the like. He brought some perf metal in from the metal shop he worked in to protect the front and back, just like this. If I took the time to do a better silk screening jon on the lettering and such, my amp could pass for this one.

Personally, I don't think an amp should be so basic and plain that it could have been built in a basement by a 15 year old, but that's me. I'm too high tech and cutting edge I suppose.
