Anyone use an Alesis Quadraverb as a bass effect unit ?

In over 30 years of playing I have typically not been an effects player. I did add a compressor to my rig in the past year and have had decent results, and am generally been pretty happy with it.

I have an assortment of gear laying around from various recording set-ups that I have built over the years and today I was reminded that I have an original Alesis Quadraverb. It's a dated but decent 1U multi-effects box that is fairly quiet. I do not run a rack set-up, so its not terribly gig friendly, but what the heck.

My question is, has anyone used one for bass, and if you have, do you have any suggestions on good combination's of the 4 possible general effects (reverb, delay, pitch and EQ).

It has 80 some odd presets already and room for about 20 user settings I think. I have not used this unit for years, but playing around with the presets tells me it could be interesting. I am a bit intimidated by all the adjustable sub parameters that each primary effect has available.

So, any input would be welcome.

    Thanks

I use the GT version, and find all the modulation fx to be quite weak and characterless compared to say, the Boss or Ibanez equivalents. I did a review on HC - mine's second from the top. I go into a reasonable amount of detail.

I find that the fx loop in the Quadraverb handles fx pedals much better than my RBI, and I'm able to EQ back in lost bottom end when using distortions too. My advice to you re: settings is to just play with it - some of my best settings were accidents.
