I Use a TU-70 which I think is cheaper than the TU-8 and it works fine with Low B and high C for that matter.

I can't drop it to D though, well not an open D mode you just have to use the flatten mode and drop it down two 1/2 steps.

Either way yes it works fine for Low B but may I recomend the TU-2 its a fantastic tuner/pedal and can be used as a power supply.

  3. I recomend the TU-2. It's definately worth the money and I love having it on a gig because it'll cut the signal to your amp so I can tune without the anyone having to listen it. Plus it's a BOSS pedal so you know it'll last forever.

I like it. It tunes to B,C, & drop D, 1/2 step just fine.

  5. my tuner (Boss ct-6) was made especially for a B string( which is ironic because i only use fours now). another way to drop D is to hold the E @ the 2nd fret and tune to E when you let go you got a D string
