Ibanez is sending me a new preamp, actually they are sending it to the store I bought it and they will put it in. I bought the bass(SRX505) brand new in October so it is under warranty. Anything specific that causes that?

  2. I bought an SR800 in 2003 - decent, but the electronics cavity was 'tight', to say the least. I ended up having to re-solder the battery connections for the 9V battery (active preamp stuff) because the leads essentially fell apart. I doubt that there is anything specific to your case that caused the problem though - I'd bet that Ibanez would send a completely new replacement preamp instead of fixing any wiring issues simply because it is cheaper for them to do so.

Hope the new installation works okay for you - enjoy the neck.
