Apps for recording and editing?

Did a search, didn't find anything. My phone and tablet are both smarter and faster than my computer and it has pretty good access to programs.
Phone is Samsung Galaxy 7, and tablet is Kindle Fire HD 7, both android.
Saw in an article some microphone that plugs direct to mini USB, but I'd prefer to have minimal gear and phone usually comes with me anyway.
