Archy?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by spectorrebop, Feb 14, 2005.

  1. My dad knows a guy whose played bass for a while now and wants to get rid of his stuff. He told me that he plays archy. ( I have know idea how to spell it). Have any of you ever heard of it, or is my dad getting it mixed with something? I've tried searching on google and couldn't find anything. Any kind of help would be appreciated.

i'm drawing a blank archy doesnt come close to ampeg.......
see if you can talk to the guy yourself and have him tell you what kind of amp it is and how to spell it
    jughead? betty? veronica?

  3. I'm not sure of this but,........... when a double bass (stand up bass) player plays by plucking the strings it's called "piccolo" and when he plays with a bow it's called "archy".

    ???

    Just a guess.

Perhaps ask the double bass guys in that forum.

  4. im a really young bass player and quite a newbie, so im srry if this doesnt exist. I was right about to ask the guy on the phone but then he went on vacation in florida and it has really been bugging me over the past day. Maybe a just shoudnt worry about it and get a avatar or swr.

hey, i would say it's worth the wait to find out what the guy has. maybe you'll get a good deal.

  6. No. Plucking the string is "pizzicato" and bowing is "arco".

Or is my leg being pulled here...?
