Is this indicative of our views of the British? Anti-intellectualism? Shifting demographics? All of the above?

I am tired of arrogant TV personalities of any nationality...
Fortunately, I am exposed to very few of them.

Look at CNN's overall ratings. They aren't doing too hot, and it certainly isn't Morgan's fault for that.

Neither do I, but Steve is worse. Ricky is openly insulting but they're actually friends. Ricky doesn't really think Karl is stupid. It's just the dynamic of their friendship. Steve is condescending and has nothing original to add.

How does being tired of Simon Cowell make one anti-intellectual?

To be be fair, MSNBC and Fox's ratings aren't as high as they used to be either. The Six O'Clock News on network tv is all but dead. I think this is more or less an indication of American people waking up and realizing that what passes for "news" these days, are nothing more than a bunch of corporate mouthpieces and blowhards regurgitating the same talking points over and over and over.

If by arrogant British personalities you mean Jeremy Clarkson then no, no I'm not.

In general, the imports we broadcast are less "Larry the Cable Guy" than their American counterparts, often with more internationally-minded views.

    Shows come and go.

I think anti-intellectualism is all in the collective mind of the pseudo-intellectuals.

Here, here! Top Gear still cracks me up even though I'm well aware that I'll never own a McClaren.

Piers Morgan is and has always been a dick. How he lasted so long on american tv is anybody's guess. Not a good indication.

It's not anti anything. Jay Leno was replaced. Anti-intellectual?

Before Morgan became famous in the states for his Simon Cowell imitation he was a tabloid writer and editor.

I know the British accent makes him sound intelligent.

Larry the Cable Guy is probably smarter. Definitely funnier.
  15. He was the editor of the Daily Mail, which says it all really :p

Morgan and Cowell are t**ts, we don't want them back. However, if you are getting rid of them, please keep Trump away from my island:

Edit - editor of the Daily Mirror (not much better), he still writes for the Daily Mail, my mistake.

For the record I found Larry the Cable Guy much funnier than Jay Leno.

I love how the media just makes stuff up. Yep, them darn English elites with they's fancy talkin' and all. Always puttin' on airs, and talkin' correct when a real man just sorta lets words fall outta his mouth like a good puke after drinkin' too much green beer on St. Patty's day. If ya cain't catch the meanin' of my words, maybe you're the one with the problem. And what's with them stupid wigs, and all that powder anyway? I never did understand them English, and I reckon I never will.
