Are 'Cavern' Ignition Basses Heavier Because Of A Centerblock?

    than the 'regular' Ignition basses? Caverns have the close to the neck(and close to each other) pickups I like.The other Ignitions have the pickups spaced apart.I want the lightest guitar possible and is one of the main reasons I want a Hofner Violin bass.

    My Hofner Igniton Club bass weighs in right around 5 pounds, and it is a hollowbody (no F-holes). 20181011_155043.jpg

    I've never heard of a center block making a bass weigh less, but there is a true hollow-body version with the odd pickup placement.

    Hofner Cavern vs. Contemporary?

    CTs have the center blocks, Ignitions don’t.
