Are F-Basses rare?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by waytoodeep03, Nov 29, 2005.

  1. I never see any on the Bay for sale. I am looking diligently for a BN6 and can't find any anywhere for sale. Where do you get these from?

  2. thanks

Used BN6 is very hard to find...I think Gelb Music here in Redwood City still has a new one. I truely believe the maple board ash body combo is the ticket for the F bass sound. I've tried other board and it's just not the sound I want. :)

    +2

I recently found out that I'm an ash + maple guy. After having spent good quality time with one of the most beautiful Sadowsky NYC's to date (chambered ash w/ebony board), I was totally drawn to the F's feel and sound. Can't beat it.

  7. Heh, it's no big deal. Just joking around. I am trying to raise the money for it, but I don't expect it to last too much longer. :^/

I think 5 or 6 string are not rare, but 4 string is almost impossible to find.

    Cheers

The problem that most people have with 4s is that the upcharges are too much for most to handle. Unfortunate, but true.

No sweat... I knew that. Best of luck getting it. This would be one I'd sell a kidney for if I didn't already have one.

They are rare compared to alot of basses you might know about as far as numbers produced. He pretty much hand makes them.

  15. I concur. It absolutely killed the Zon 519 and Alembic Orion I tested along side it.
