Just wondering if the Skyline series basses have a lacquered finish to them (not the fretboard, I'm talking about the back of the neck)? I tried a US model recently that had an unlacquered neck.

I think they are oil finished. I played one over the weekend and I'm starting to like that more and more. Just touch it up from time to time and it should be very durable. There's no way they are raw wood.
  4. its an oild finish similar in feel to what Music Man uses on the stingrays.

No, it's NOT an oil finish. The US Laklands have oil finishes. The Skylines have a satin lacquer (urethane?) finish on the back of the neck.
