It looks like Dave Matthews Band has a new album coming out on 9/12/12, produced with the bands former producer, Steve Lillywhite. Anyone here looking forward to this release? I have recently developed an appreciation for a lot of their music, I quite enjoy it.

Count me in. While I've enjoyed the territory they've explored with other producers, to me, their sound has been more shallow than their work w/Lillywhite.

I'm a fan of the old Lillywhite produced albums but when I hear this song I am genuinely disappointed because everything is sloppy (except Carter Beauford of course). It's not particularly well arranged, many of the parts are busy & not well thought out and the mix has so much panning going on that listening through headphones makes my head hurt. I will always be a fan but that track leaves this reviewer cold.

There's a fine line between going back to your roots and trying to relive your past. This feels more like that latter.

They aren't what they used to be. Dave could do better. He is the leader of the band and his creativity is at an all time low. I ordered the cd and looking forward to the last track prog song called drunken solider. Well see what happens. You can skip the first half of the album unless you want radio friendly songs. There is a song called belly belly nice that might be the next too much.

I love all the older stuff but the past few years I haven't been that impressed.
I think when Lillywhite was producing they where at their best, but at times I think the bass got kind of drowned out, especially on the crash album. Maybe it's time i gave the new stuff an honest listen though.

I like their covers better than their originals for the last 15 years or so.
