Hi guys. Does anyone have any input on these basses? I have seen one locally for £250 which is around $400. Its a neck through model around 1982. I've always wanted a fretless bass as I love jeff aments sound on pearl jam songs. What do you guys think? Is it a good bass for the money? Thanks!
Sounds fair- I'd try to haggle it down a bit, simply on principle- the principle reason being I am poor. Is it a factory-fretless or defret? That may affect value, giving you some bargaining leverage. Edit: Oops- just saw second post
Thanks. Is it a good bass though? Incidentally I just noticed today aria are releasing a cliff burton black n gold I, it looks impressive!
Aria has a pretty good reputation, as does most any Matsumoko bass. IME fretless tone is a very personal thing- my ideal f/less is very unlike my fretted bass(es)- play before you buy if possible, I say.
