I had one in sunburst for a bit and the only thing that let it down for me was the electronics - the preamp was really noisy, even with the Treble set flat.

    - really nice looking, particularly the sunburst model I had
    - quite a fast neck for a 5-string, at least to my hands
    - the low B had enough tension in it
    - the 2-band EQ allowed for a variety of sounds
    - sounded good, a little of the Stingray sound in there
    - it was LOUD!

    - cheap electronics, very noisy
    - poorly shielded
    - control cavity was VERY packed

I picked it up cheap on eBay for less than £150 and intended to replace the electronics in it due to the noisy stock electronics, but ended up selling it as I didn't have the cash to upgrade at the time.

Here's a quick demo I knocked up shortly after getting it and before I raised the action a little as it was really low when I got it.

I wouldn't be averse to picking up another on the cheap and upgrading the electronics as I really did like the look and feel of it.

    Hope this helps.

i have that exact bass pictured, amazing piece of gear, neck nice and fast unlike my previous yamaha, gd electronics eventhough i changed them out for seymour duncan MM SMB-5D and my own bass & treble cut circuit with parallel/series switch cause i dont like active but the cavity very small and leaves little room to mess about in
