As good as the real thing? Check this CT out

  1. It looks nice, but I get that "red flag" feeling from his statement about Ron Blake. IMO - Anyone who worked for the man for 20 years would probably have signed some sort of exclusivity contract. If not, at the very least he would have earned enough respect for Carl not to knock-off his work or enough respect for himself to create a unique product.

I agree. I've met 2 guys that worked for CT, and they have their own designs.

it looks awesome... i would take it... i could be a lot cheaper than a real CT and also it seems that looks-sound fairly good (not as good as an original CT... i think)...

Ray Rogers and Ron Blake both worked for Carl...they both just carved the scrolls.

I wouldn't buy it...besides, who says the originals are good?

I don't think I would buy it. Then again, I have never played a real CT, either. And I don't care to. Way too expensive for me. And ugly, IMO.

I've played a few Thompsons over the years, and my friend currently owns two! They vary a great deal. My friend's are both amazing, but a couple others were just O.K. As far as I understand, Carl is not taking orders anymore. Anyone else heard that?

That's what I thought. And they both made CT-influenced (I'm avoiding the "c" word)?
