Maybe it is a little off the solo bass realm buy I hope you can help me out.

I tried this great little combo one day in a store. I fell in love with it. While searching the web for info on this babe I ran into your webpage.

I finally bought the amp and I must say that is just what I was looking for. Professional, portable, and expandable. I love it.

I noticed you use it with a 1x15 or 4x10, I also read that you want to get a 2x10h cab. Ashdown has changed the look and have added new cabinets.

Here is my cuestion... what sort of extension cab can work best on these babes, a 300watt, 200watt or the new 100watt cabs? I really don't understand this.

The combo has a 300 watt amp that runs into a 200 watt 10'. how much power is left?

I asked ashdown several times but the give me generic answers like... "watts are not important, look at the Ohms" (wow, nice Ohms)¿?

    I am really confused.

    thanks

    HI Samie,

I've used the combo with a 300W 2x10 cab, and also run an Ashdown 500W head with two of the new 1x10 cabs, both combinations were amazing. The 2x10 is going to give you more bottom end, whereas the 1x10 is very portable.

I think what the Ashdown people meant by look at the Ohms was that the cab has to be an 8 Ohm cab to run as an extension to the combo - you can use an ABM 300 2x10, a MAG 200 2x10 or one of the new mini 1x10 cabs - all are fine, so long as you get the 8 ohm versions...

    I hope that helps

    Thanks Steve..

So how do the watts of the cabinets affect this equation? I mean given to 8 Ohms cabinets would the 300 W extension cabinet be louder than 100 W cabinet on the ABM300110 combo?

I liked the 210H but the new 15with tweter might be what I am looking for. But I don't understand how a 100w cabinet can be enough if it can handel a 300w cabinet.

BTY, I am thinking of getting one of those looping delays things and doing some solo stuff.
