Hi all, I'm looking for an amp head to drive my 1x12 cab. I plan on upgrading to a 4x12 when I can afford it and I would like a head that will not need to be upgraded with the new cab. The best choices I've come across so far are the Ashdown ABM500 and the Peavey Tour 700. Any advice or pros/cons? I haven't met anyone who actually uses either head.

Hey, I had the Ashdown ABM 500 for years and loved it. It's a very versatile great sounding amp and I would consider replacing it if I was to buy another SS amp. My only experience with the Peavy model you mention was 1 night I had to use one from the band we were playing with and I disliked it more than any amp I have used. I found very dry an muffled. Maybe I was doing something wrong with the EQ but I don't think so. Anyway. That's my 2 cents
