    Both are good.
For my very personal taste, I highly prefer Ashdown over SWR. General tone is warmer on Ashdown, IMO.
    Hope this helps,

    Cheers,
    JL

  3. personnal vote for ashdown... but what kind of music are you playing what kinda sound do you like??

they are both pretty good but very different sounding...

  4. I'd take the Ashdown. Really worth the money, and in my opinion a much better sound than swr

Ashdown. That model is great, great sound. The MAG300H is same power for cheaper, and has the same basic sound, just a little less headroom and little less tone shaping abilities.

I´d take the Ashdown over the SWR but I would also consider the EBS HD350.

The ABM has a 7-band EQ, while the MAG has only 5.
The ABM also have a valve in the preamp, with a "drive" function.

If 5 band is enough, and if you need no drive, then get the MAG. You will save money that you will be able to use for something else.

    Cheers,
    JL

I have the MAG300H with an Avatar B212 and it sounds great, especially as a standalone cab.

The MAG300H is IMO a much better deal. The main thing to consider is if you need a drive knob or not.

I do agree with the comments about the Mag's but the ABM's do have a lot more quality put into them, or so I'm told.

Think of it this way the ABM is like and American G&L and the Mag is like the Tribute both sound good but people always say if you can afford the American one get it over the cheaper version. But either head is good :D There are just minute changes between them in some aspects that might make the ABM more to your liking.

For cab's you may want to concider the ABM mini's these are available as a 1x15 and a 4x8 which if you have both is a killer setup for any style of music.

Hope you join the Ashdown family soon ;)

Id agree with that. If you can afford the ABM get it, i mean, its more expensive for a reason right? :p

In here much of bassist like Ashdown this brand~
    :bassist:
i like much, so i want to buy one, and i liked Ashdown like design, its a vintage style~ :p

  15. If you've got the money the ABM is a better amp... it does have a better power section not in size, more in quality! (i believe neways)

as for cabs I like ashdown cabs the blueline drivers are good alround sounding cabs! I went with the MAG cabs though...

reason being they are lighter, smaller and cheaper...

i use the 1*15 deep for practice and it's much smaller than the ABM 1*15. add the MAG 2*10 or 4*10... pretty ace stack!

I live in england though and for the same price as the MAG cabs you can get avatar in america which probably are a much better cab!
