I'm looking for a lightweight, powerful combo amp for rehearsals and jams. I usually play with a drummer and a couple of guitars. I've been using my WM 10 but I think I'm pushing it a little too much.

I'm looking at the Ashdown Electric Blue 12 and the Gallien-Kruger MB 150 12. Has anyone heard or played these two amps that can give me any information on them that will help me decide?

Well, here is something to think about:

    Music123.Com has the Electric Blue 130-12 & 130-15 for $299 & $319.

1/3 the cost of the GK. I have only played the GK briefly in a store and I can't justify that it sounded three times the cost of the Ashdown. Just 1/2 the weight! The ashdown is plenty loud for what it is.

I have the Electric Blue 130-12. For the money it is a great amp. It has a 5 band E.Q., bass and treble boost buttons, and the E.Q. has a bypass switch. It does NOT have a horn(tweeter) so it is not as hi-fi (a bit more woofy)of a sound as a full range cab. But the sound is very punchy with decent bass responce, and it will play loud. For $300, you can't go wrong.
